Most of the island's population and growth are situated in this northern part of Guam. The villages of Dededo and Yigo comprise
this area. The largest shopping center on the island, Micronesia Mall, has it all from it's theatres, retail shops, food court,
bank, or grocery stores. Other retail and food places to go in this area include McDonalds, BlockBuster, Taco Bell, Compadres
Mall, Cost-U-Less are just a few to name. On the weekends, wake up early to go to the Dededo Flea Market and find some good
bargain deals. Rental rates in the northern villages are considerably less than central Tamuning and you can find some good
choice complexes with great amenities. If you are stationed in Anderson Air Force Base (AAFB)or the Naval Computer &
Telecommunication Station (NCTAMS)and need to be close to work, you might consider this area. Below are some of the most popular
choices to stay in this neighborhood.
A popular condominium complex in this neighborhood is Villa Rosario with over 100+ units from 2-4 bedrooms.
The floor plans are very spacious and these units have nice finishings with marble in the kitchen and bathroom. There is a
beautiful swimming pool in the centercourt, along with a shaded barbecue pavillion, and basketball court. There is also a
proposed playground/tennis court/park on the 1.5 acre lot in front of the complex. Laundry facility is on site just in case
the unit doesn't provide for a washer/dryer. Rental rates range from $1000-$1900.00 and definitely worth a look at.
Las Palmas Townhomes is another choice neighborhood with rental rates ranging from $1200-$1900 and $1700-$2200 for Phase 3
units. This community is very family oriented with a children's playground, swimming pool, and a tennis court. A security
guard is on site and barbecue pavillions are placed throughout the complex for convenience to each unit. The townhomes are
3 bedroom and 2.5 bath, have central air conditioning, and has an enclosed patio.
Summer Palace is the only gated community in the village of Dededo. Many of Guam's executives live here. Conveniently
located along Harmon Loop Road, you'll find Cost-U-Less Grocery, Compadres Mall, McDonalds, and other retail shops just a
minutes drive away. There are townhomes and single family homes inside this compound. The townhomes rental rates range from
$1600 and homes starting at $2200. Houses are large and spacious at over 2000+ sq.ft. Swimming Pool, tennis
court, basketball court, playground, and a 24 hour gated security makes this community another choice place to live.
Further north is the gated community of Perez Acres with its beautifully manicured landscaping. The units range from
2-4 bedrooms, have coverd carports, on site mail delivery, 24 hours security, playgrounds and swimming pools. Once you've
visited this place, you'll know why it's so popular. This is a must see neighborhood. Approximately a 5 minute drive to the
Anderson base gate. Rental rates average from $1200-$1900.
Colina de Barrigada is a small community of beautiful homes in this prestigous neighborhood of Barrigada Heights. All
homes will have a spectacular view of city/ocean/airport. The 3 bedroom units are pictured above middle and the 4 bedroom
units are above left. There is a common area pool that is gated and a surveillance camera upon entry 24 hours. Rarely a unit
available as most are homeowners but expect to pay around $4000++ if you are lucky to get a unit here.
